'They will come. A long-standing enemy of the clans, an old feud returned. Run!'
Ebonstar stiffened, hearing another, feminine, meow chorusing with Sunmist, bearing the double timbre of one of StarClan. Silverdusk. It must be. Hearing her voice with Sunmist's, the she-cat realised that this warning was not to be taken idly, and began to think over what it could mean. An image flashed through her mind, one of death and destruction. Not a vision, a memory, from when Ebonstar was a mere apprentice, learning the ways of her Clan. A huge shape ripping into the den, the yowl of her fellow apprentices ranging from shock to fear in the face of such a huge enemy. 'No!' She gasped, hearing in her mind the angry growl, and the wet sounds of ripping flesh.

Sunmist paused, looking into the she-cats eyes curiously. She seemed to be having a flash back or some sort of message from starclan or... or something. He wondered what the message could possibly mean. What old enemy could they possibly have? Riverclan was, in his opinion, a generally peaceful clan. The only record he had of there being bad blood was in a few territorial wars. But those wounds eventually healed. Didn't they? A sick thought struck the tom. What if there was another war? He hated wars... he desperately wanted to help every cat, but his duty first and foremost was to his clan. They got priority.
He licked his chest smooth nervously, waiting with respect as his leader continued her vision. It wasn't a very long one, but in the awkward silence was amplified by the sounds of warriors and apprentices and kits and birds out in the distance, and the tom couldn't help but feel a little bit awkward. When she was done she said only "no!" and Sunmist couldn't help but to puff out in surprise. Whatever it was that Ebonstar was seeing was obviously troubling her. Sunmist forced his hackles down, panting slightly, and padded closer to the clan leader "Ebonstar..." he asked quietly, "What do you see?"

'Ebonstar...What do you see?' Sunmist's voice cut through the vision, and Ebonstar's eyes flashed open, a building horror visible in them. Meeting his eyes, she shook herself, trying to get rid of the horrible feeling. 'I... I' Suddenly, she chocked, beginning to cough. A voice whispered in her mind, like a passing cloud, 'No you don't, dearie...' Shaking her head again, she murmured, 'I can't say, and not by my choice. Something's not letting me say it. But let me tell you this, They will come, and we must prepare ourselves. This will be a struggle remembered by our descendants.'

[Eesh. Sorry I'm so late ^-^'] 'A new mentor?' Pricklepaw wondered, ignoring the pang of grief for Lunarflight as she turned and bounded back to sit in front of Ebonstar. 'Pumahunt, it is long past the time for you to recieve an apprentice. You will guide Pricklepaw through the next moons of her training. RiverClan honours your skills, and I hpe you will teach her well.' With a purr of surprise, the apprentice stood again, touching noses with Pumahunt with a loud, happy purr before settling down beside him. Vaugely, she heard Pumahunt adress Ebonstar, promising to teach her well, but her mind was clouded with happiness and bittersweet memories.
[[ After the meeting]]
Pricklepaw stood and streached. Most of the cats had gone back to their duties or their dens, save for Sunmist, Otterpaw, Pumahunt and herself. Violently shaking the snow off her paws, she saw a darker shape approach her. ""Congrats. and good luck with your training." [/b]Otterpaw meowed, she thought he looked more than a bit uncomfortable "I'm sure you'll do well". " I'm sure you will too" she meowed, waving her tail happily before bounding off after Pumahunt and Spottedpelt.

Nightstalker sat unobserved in the shadows. She watched the coming and goings of the camp sharply. They all thought she was crazy. But she had known, long before this meeting she had known. Something was coming, it was getting closer by the second. Nightstalker wraped her tail around her front paws. She sighed wearily and thought of those nice leaves that Sunmist had given her. They seemed to of worked for a time. The Clovers had hidden but now they were creeping back around the edges. The camp was surrounded by them. Whenever she left to hunt or on patroll all she saw was a sea of Clovers. She had been counting on leafbare to thin down the ever growing ranks of Clovers. But they were crafty. They hid so well from the cold. She watched her clanmates irritably. How could they not see the waves of Clovers marching ever closer to the camp. What would happen when they reached the camp? Nightstalker shivered fearfully. "They're just plants, they're just plants." She muttered under her breath, hunching her shoulders and staring, wide eyed at the camp entrance. She didn't believe it though. They were something else entirely, they were living, thinking things that were doing their very bect to get her. Nightstalker crouched down. Puffing up her fur anxiously. They were coming.
