Unlike the other Clans, RiverClan depends solely on one type of prey - silver scaly fish. This is the freshkill pile, where cats will share tongues and prey alike.

The RiverClan leader sleeps on a comfortable nest of water reeds in a small den made of more reeds and sheltered under the boughs of the willow. Not very many RiverClanners venture into this den because it's considered a very private area of the camp.

Inside the tangle of reeds that belongs to the Medicine cat lie several small earth caves, dug out specifically for the protection of the herbs. The Medicine cat and his apprentice share a den separated from the patient's area by watergrass.

Another patch of reeds is where the warriors sleep. The warriors have woven feathers into the roof of the den and placed pebbles and shells from the river around the side, making the whole den shimmer with light and colours.

A large boulder surrounded by reeds and covered by a sweeping branch of the willow tree hides the apprentices from sight. Patches of sunlight can break through the tree, but that also means that rain can too.

Opposite the warrior's den and aside to the medicine dens lie the roots of the willow tree. The elders had the apprentices dig out small caves and cover the roots with dried reeds to create the perfect den for retired warriors.
