Doomkit flinched a little as the clan started calling her new name. Doompaw. She swelled a little with pride, despite her being a little dazzled still, her fur fluffed out with her chest. She didn't stop her tail from raising, like a banner of her excitemnt. She cast her gaze towards where she suopposed Starclan would be at nighttime. Mother, she thought wistfully, I am to be a warrior afterall. The dark apprenticed turned about and faced the clearing, looking at all of her clanmates who where calling her name. The one who she noticed first was the mentorless apprentice, Weaslepaw. She felt a pang of guilt, having recieved a mentor before him. She would give her mentor up for him if she could, but she did not think that Duskstar would take too kindly to that. She didn't know, but it looked as if the tom was happy for her.
The second thing she noticed, and it didn't register who it was at first, was her friend Emberkit. She purred, relaxing even more. Knowing the clan was happy for her was enough to put her troubled mind at ease for a few moments. She gazed up at Duskstar, wondering who her mentor would be, her eyes wide and bright. Happy, strong, proud.

[my bad!]
The maine coon she-cat was proud for the timid new apprentice, and hoped that this would help bring her out of her shell. She seemed... unsecure with her new Clan, and Skysong knew it was because of the deaths of her parents. She hoped being more active in the Clan life would help her realise that grief isn't the only thing out there. Pushing that aside for further ponderings, she joined the chorus of cats cheering, yowling the apprentice's name to the sky. 'Doompaw! Doompaw!' She could see another cat, Weaselpaw, at the back of the gathered cats, up on his hind legs as he called out his now den-mates name. She felt kind of sorry for him to be stuck in camp like a kit, unable to even go on patrol without a mentor. She was glad that this wwould change at this meeting, and hoped he had a good mentor to make up for time lost.
'Doompaw, Doompaw!' Lightkits cries were most likely drowned out by her clanmates, but she didn't care. What mattered was supporting the grief-ridden cat in her accomplishment, and she hoped that it, along with the companionship of her sister, would help Doompaw overcome it. She was giddy with excitement, thinking about her own coming ceremony, and how she hoped she looked as dignified as Doompaw did now. Lightkit grinned first at her sister, then at the new apprentice, showing support and kindness to her.

Wildfangs whiskers twitched hapily as she watched the new apprentice. Once again she wondered who the mentor would be and turned her eyes to her leader. She sniffed slightly. The day wasn't getting any warmer.

Russetstripe glanced pointedly at Wildfang. Whilst the congratulations were being exchanged he slipped away from the base of Shade Rock, backing up and landing himself a seat next to the pretty she-cat with a bump and a playful nudge of her shoulder.
'Cheer up' he grinned, laughter in his gooseberry green eyes. His paws were probably as cold as hers, and his pelt was no longer keeping the rain drops at bay. Instead they were soaking through to his skin - making him shiver. If the Clan stayed out in this weather for too long, they'd all end up with whitecough - or worse. The ginger tom flicked his tail at the massive rabbit that Wildfang had dragged in triumphantly and purred his compliments to her.
'Did I see you limping when you returned to camp?' he queried, giving away the real reason he'd changed his seating position, 'May I take a look later? Once the meeting's over of course.' he smiled, nodding to the medicine den with a welcoming smile on his furry face. No doubt it was probably just a sprain that would go away with rest, but Russetstripe had learned never to overlook the small things.

Wildfang sighed but smiled at the medicine cat. "allright then" She said grudgingly. She didn't want to. Her paw hurt but it wouldn't stop her. But Wildfang knew that the bast way to serve her clan was by being as healthy as she could be, and that meant listining to the medicine cat. Wildfang twitched her ears, then shook her head to try and shake off the rain. She couldn't tell whether it had worked or not because just at that moment the rain intensified. Wildfang hunched her shoulders and glared at her leader. Anounce the aprentices mentor! She yowled silently.

[OoC; RAWR. I'm Duskstar for the day.]
The tabby tomcat surveyed his rejoicing Clan from the top of Shade Rock and, despite the grim news he was witholding until last, he couldn't help but smile slightly. A movement at his side caught his attention and he looked down in time to see Russetstripe slip away to sit next to Wildfang. That made him chuckle inwardly, the ginger cat was so attentive to every detail, he'd probably spotted the she-cats limp when she'd returned with her freshkill. It was an impressive catch to be fair, and would probably serve the clan for the next two days at least. Now that Leafbare was in full swing rationing had come into play.
'Congratulations again Doompaw, but before I announce your mentor there is another task that I need to see to' Duskstar looked pointedly over the grey apprentices head, straight into the yellow eyes of Weaselpaw, the attention seeker. His antics at the back of the crowd had not been missed, nor had his efforts around the camp in spite of his lack of a mentor. It was only fair, thought the tabby warrior, that Weaselpaw received a mentor before Doompaw - afterall, he had been waiting for quite some time. 'Weaselpaw, your determination and hard work in these past two moons show me that you will one day become an outstanding warrior, and the Clan should be proud to call you one of our own. From this day until you fully earn your warrior name, your mentor will be Skysong. I know she will teach you well.' He couldn't help it - a true smile escaped onto his whiskered face before he could stop it, showing just how pleased he was with the young black tom's patience and initiative.

Bleakheart lowered his head until he was sitting in a tight crouch. The wind flattened his whiskers to his face, making his yellow eyes water. Annoyed, the undersized tom rubbed a paw over his face to drive away the salty liquid. He wasn't sure if he should do the chant or not, so he was simply going to remain silent. The others could chant if they wanted. Well, that just goes to show you, Bleak... You are definitely not a crowd cat. All the chanting business isn't meant for you, he reminded himself, returning his large eyes to their normal wideness. He looked up at Duskstar, half-praying, half-demanding for the meeting to come to an end. The rain had begun to soak through his pelt, touching his skin.
Hawktail let out a murmur of approval as Weaselpaw earned his mentor. Skysong was a good choice. The young apprentice had been waiting patiently and had now gotten his wish. What the heck? It's just like a normal apprentice ceremony! Why not chant? And with that, she lifted her chin and called out a hearty, "Weaselpaw! Weaselpaw!" The release of hot air made her shiver and she recoiled slightly, but soon brought herself back out, continuing her chant.
Smiling up at her mother, Rainbowpaw lifted her chin to the sky and cried out, "Weaselpaw! Weaselpaw!" It was obvious by the push in her voice that she was trying to out-chant her mother. A smile was playing at her, no matter how cold or how wet she had no become. rain dripped from her whiskers, which trembled with cold.
Creakingwood smirked. Tipping back his head he joined the nearby she-cats in their calling of Weaselpaw. Oh, yes, ShadowClan was bound to survive this season. The black and white cat could feel it in his bones. ShadowClan would prosper. Lowering his voice, Creakingwood looked up at Duskstar with a questioning look. Was it through? Had the meeting finally come to an end? Could the shivering cats return to their nests and hopefully warm up?

Wildfang laughed at Rainbowpaws antics and added her own voice to the chant. "Weaselpaw, Weaselpaw!" Then she sneezed and gave her head a quick, irritated shake.
>Sorry, not much for me to say.<

Skysong froze. She hadn't been expecting to be called on to mentor anyone this early on in her Warrior-dom, and it's not like she overly wanted one. But now, to be called upon, her muzle split open in a wide smile as she stepped forward to greet her apprentice, Weaselpaw. Lowering her head, she touched noses with the younger cat and dimmed her discoball a little until she was smiling kindly at him. She nodded in respect towards Duskstar, and guestured with a flick of her tail for Weaselpaw to sit with her as she made her way back the short distance to her seat.

[OoC; Okay, so I'm Duskstar for a lil bit longer. xD]
Still smiling at Weaselpaw and thrilling with the success of his Clan, Duskstar swayed his tail to call for silence. There were two more very important jobs he had to do today, and he was already receiving glares from several of the cats for keeping them out in the rain so long. At least it had started to lessen a little bit, the wind wasn't driving quite so hard into his own pelt anymore at least.
'Doompaw, your mentor will be Bleakheart. He is a strong tom in all skills and I know you'll do your best to learn' The tom's gaze then slid to the newly named mentor. Bleakheart hadn't always been a part of ShadowClan, but Duskstar's lunatic predecessor had somehow managed to rope him into becoming a Clan cat and so far, despite some differences, he had settled in well. Duskstar was pleased with his warrior skills and was proud to call him a member of the Clan. Giving him Doompaw to mentor was a sure sign that he belonged here, and the tabby hoped he would see it as praise for everything the previous loner had done for ShadowClan.
'Bleakheart, though you were not born among us you have a warrior's soul, teach this apprentice all she needs to survive life in the forest. I know I will not be disappointed' Duskstar bowed his head to the tomcat, as he had done to Skysong also. It was at this point that he then leapt from the Shade Rock, landing mere pawlengths from the large puddle that had been formed by the rain, and flicked his tail towards Rainbowpaw, beckoning her.
'My last duty to perform today is a very pleasing one. We have all watched as Rainbowpaw has learned the way of the warrior and I believe the time is now right to name her as such. Rainbowpaw, please step forwards'----------------------------- The black tom stopped wobbling on his hind legs the instant his yellow eyes met Duskstar's. He sank back onto all fours, a slight flush making his pelt hot as he realised just what a fool he'd looked like. It felt surreal, like some sort of dream, as his leader called out the words he had so longed to hear. It was the best dream ever, and it was real! Weaselpaw practically wagged his tail as he stood to greet Skysong, nudging her nose a little hard in his eagerness to accept her as his mentor.
He followed her back to her seat, positively beaming as the cats of the Clan called his name. This was a true ceremony, a day he would never forget.
'What do we do now?' he hissed excitedly in her ear, though it was more at her shoulder, seeing as he was quite a bit smaller than her. His butt was wiggling all over the rain soaked floor, like he had an infestation of ants in his tail. He could barely sit still as Duskstar continued with Doompaw's ceremony and probably wouldn't be able to sit still for at least another few hours..

Bleakheart's head snapped up at his name, his yellow orbs for eyes sharp as knives. He was a mentor? His eyes softened; it was a gift. Standing, the golden tabby cat padded forward and quickly brushed his nose over Doompaw's like he had seen times before. A small smile, if possible, played at the tomcat's lips. His flicked his eyes up to Duskstar, the yellow irises holding his thanks without the need to speak. Turning, the tabby cat glided back to his seat, curling against the ground once more to keep his body heat.
Hawktail smiled as the former rogue walked awkwardly to his new apprentice, but beamed as her daughter's name was called. She flashed a toothy grin at Rainbowpaw, meowing an encouragement to her.
Rainbowpaw's breath caught in her throat, and she thought she was going to forget how to get the air back into her lungs. Rising shakily to her paws, she shook the water -and nervousness- from her pelt. Her fur instantly fell back into place and she stepped forward with more confidence. With her chin held high she approached her leader.
Creakingwood smiled at the new mentors, new apprentices, and the soon-to-be Warrior. Tonight was certainly a night to remember.

Duskstar padded forwards to meet the nervous young cat, tipping his ears forward in an encouraging way. He stood in front of her, swept a look around the entire Clan and then lifted his head to speak to the clouds, the rain sliding the wrong way down his muzzle so that he had to shut his eyes.
'I Duskstar, leader of ShadowClan, call upon my Warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a Warrior in her turn. Rainbowpaw, do you promise to uphold the Warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?
Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your Warrior name. Rainbowpaw, from this moment you will be known as Rainbowspring. StarClan honours your courage and perseverance, and we welcome you as a full Warrior of ShadowClan.'
The tabby tom rested his muzzle on the she-cats head, blinking his eyes open to rid them of the rain. He was pleased he was able to do this today, it showed the Clan had strength - despite the bitter weather and the lack of decent prey.

Meowing a strong, "I do!" the she-cat stood tall as Duskstar named her. Rainbowspring. It had a beautiful ring to it. The new Warrior flashed the widest grin possible to her leader, showing her newly found confidence. She meowed her thanks to him. If she didn't know any better, she would have tackled down the tom and smothered him with her joy.
Hawktail leaped to her paw before anyone else. "Rainbowspring! Rainbowspring!" she cried. She called out as loud as she could, all thoughts about the cold gone, replaced with pride. Her daughter was a Warrior now. This was the day of her life!
Bleakheart flinched slightly as the nearby she-cat screamed her daughter's new mane. Nonetheless, he lifted his muzzle and called softly, "Rainbowspring!"
Creakingwood smiled at the she-cat's reaction. He tipped up his muzzle and joined in the chanting of her new name. It was amazing how, despite the cold and the rain, the whole Clan could be drawn to a smile. ShadowClan, the stalkers of the night, the ones who were said to have hearts darker than the woods they lived in, were actually coming together like any of the other Clans to rejoice in the new gift of apprentices and Warriors.

Eclipsesong watched silently, as expected. She cheered however- although her voice was soft. Any that had ever heard her talk however, knew about her bittersweet voice. Dangerously sweet. She didn't need it to show just how sinister she could be though.
Emberkit's pride in her friend only grew as she received a mentor. She approved greatly of Duskstar's choice. She didn't even have to study him for long to know he was similar in some ways to Doompaw, and that would suit them well. But she didn't just give all her attention to her friend. She cheered for Weaselpaw, who at last received a mentor; and for Rainbowspring, for receiving her warrior name. When she stopped chanting, her head hurt just a bit. All the yowling was getting to her head.
The chanting startled Viperfang, and he managed to open his eyes more attentively now. He began to join in the cheering, hoping it would keep him awake, at least until the clan meeting was over. The numbing cold didn't help much.

Wildfang cheered loudly with the rest of her clan. A new apprentice, Two new mentors and a new warrior! This was a great day for Shadowclan, despite the freezing cold. Wildfang smiled happily then glanced at the freshkill pile. She was exhausted, but maybe she should try to do a bit more hunting before she turned in. Accidentally forgetting about Russetstripe request for her to stay behind and look at her paw, Wildfang pulled herself up and limped with a determined air towards the camp exit.

Returning Rainbowspring's smile Duskstar returned swiftly to his perch on Shade Rock, his last announcement would only take seconds.
'As is tradition, Rainbowspring will sit vigil in silence tonight, as it is so early in the morning however, she may speak until sundown. The meeting is at an end.' With that said, he slipped rather ungraciously off the back of the jutting stone and padded back to the undersized cave that was his den. You couldn't really call it a cave, more of a hole in a rock - but that didn't sound all too menacing for the ShadowClan leader to live in. He reached the entrance and shook fervently, spattering the walls with cold drips of rain. The clouds above camp looked less threatening and the rain was beginnning to ease, perfect for the Warriors to go out hunting. The freshkill pile - despite Wildfang's efforts - still looked rather diminished.
Duskstar himself curled tightly into his nest and began to wash away the remaining raindrops with strong swift strokes of his pink tongue, warming and cleaning at the same time. See? Toms can multi-task.----------------------------------------- Russetstripe cheered and yowled with the rest of the Clan, his green eyes glowing with pride as each ceremony ended. He didn't envy Rainbowspring though, a vigil in this weather would be no fun at all. At least the rain was stopping. He might be able to try his luck at hunting afterall. The ginger tom smoothed his chest fur of rain and stood up, stretching stiff legs with a moan. He looked to his side to speak with Wildfang, only to find she had disappeared.
'I hope you're not planning on going hunting again?' he meowed loudly at her retreating back. With a meaningful tilt of the head at her obvious limp and a quick smile, the medicine cat trotted back into the dry stone walls of his den, heading directly for the enclosed corner where his stash of herbs was kept. A possible sprain, that would require poppy seeds for the pain - just one or two perhaps, a poultice of betony for the day, and a few days of strict rest. Russetstripe licked his pawpad and dabbed two poppy seeds onto it, hobbling comically over to his stash of leaves, used for transporting herbs. He picked two flower heads of betony and chewed them one by one, spitting as much out as possible onto a second leaf. Carefully, he took them both in his teeth and dragged them out into the larger area of the den, where there was more space for application of a poultice - it was messy work sometimes.------------------------------------------ 'Rainbowspring! Rainbowspring!' called Weaselpaw, positively beaming at his old denmate as her warrior name was announced. It was strange really, he had both gained and lost a denmate in the same day. As Duskstar dismissed the Clan he rushed forwards, butting Rainbowspring in the shoulder and purring his congratulations as loud as possible. He was so pleased for her, she really had deserved it.
'You'll make a fantastic warrior!' he meowed, completely unnecessarily, still grinning from ear to ear.

Wildfang froze at The medicine cats voice. Opps. She sighed as she limped over to his den and sat in the big area waiting for him patiently. "I'm sorry" she mewed when he came in again. "I clean forgot, I was actualy thinking about going out hunting again, the clan needs freshkill and if I can give it to them I will." Wildfang supressed the urge to sneeze and blinked anxiously at Russetstripe. "I can go hunting again afterwards. Right?" She didn't want to be held up, as she had said before, the clan was in desperate need of food.

As soon as dismissed, Rainbowspring hurled her body around, sprinting back to her mother. She was interrupted as Weaselpaw bumped her, but she purred playfully in response to it. "Thanks, Weaselpaw! I can tell you'll be right behind me." She flicked her whiskers, ridding them of some water. "I want to be the first cat to go on patrol with you as a Warrior, so don't forget!" Flashing one last toothy smile to her friend, the newly made Warrior dashed over to her awaiting mother. She rubbed muzzles with her, purring loudly.
Hawktail was wriggling with joy for her daughter. "I'm so proud of you!" she meowed as the black and white pelt came forward. She accepted to nose touch with gratitude. This little cat had done so much for her, keeping her tail from dragging, holding her head high. She was always so helpful, and now she was finally getting thanked for all of that. The dark tabby's eyes glowed brightly, her smile wider than she could ever really remember.
Bleakheart let out a long breath. "Finally!" he muttered. This meeting couldn't have gone any slower! His eyes found Doompaw's, and he froze. What did he do about the apprentice? Bleak, think! Do you go talk to Doompaw, or not? Should you go on a patrol or training or something? Wait! The cat was just made an apprentice, and kits couldn't go out of Camp. Instinctively smirking at his new idea, the tom padded smoothly toward Doompaw, his paws silent as he approached the cat from behind. "Do you want to go and check out the territory?" he meowed quietly, slightly embarrassed by his high voice.
Creakingwood finally allowed his body to relax, ridding him of his smile and hardening his eyes once more. He silently took in all of the remaining cats. Hunting patrol. "Skysong," he called, "up for leading a hunting patrol? Take Weaselpaw, Hawktail, and Wilfang as soon as her paw is treated." The black cat flashed a smirk at the Warrior, desperate to assist her Clan. Creakingwood knew that the she-cat was stubborn, and wasn't going to stay in Camp for very long. "Leave as soon as you can, but not before you should." His golden eyes locked with Wilfang's for a heartbeat, but soon released and he padded away.

Still snuffling back in his herb stash, the ginger medicine cat didn't hear Wildfang's question - nor Creakingwood's orders. He walked out backwards, ruffling his fur the wrong way around the stone tunnel, and happily began nosing Wildfang's paw. He pushed his muzzle against it in several places trying to determine the source of the pain. He lightly held her toes in his jaws and moved them backwards and forwards repeatedly, to check how much movement hurt the she-cat, and finally he licked her leg all over, just to make sure he couldn't taste any blood - which would mean there was a wound under there somewhere.
'Well, I'd say you need to stay in camp until at least sunhigh with a poultice on your leg, and you'll need to take it as easy as possible until tomorrow morning at the very earliest' he pronounced to Wildfang, realising he was probably going to get an earful from her. He quickly licked up a mouthful of the betony poultice and started to cover her forepaw in it, leaving no gaps and spreading it thickly through her fur. It would mean he didn't have to answer questions until he'd finished.

Doompaw was happy for the tom-apprentice who had never gotten a mentor until now but, seriously, couldn't they have just announced hers first? Was it that hard she wondered with a touch of annoyance. She cast one exhasperated look to her friends direction, then turned back and began calling her collegues name a bit more exuberently than she had thought. Finally, it was her turn. She sat straight and proud, excited to find out who her mentor really was going to be. She wondered if it would be the strongest one, or the fastest one, or the one that was best at hunting. Her paws tingled with impatience. She wanted to know NOW. Finally Duskstar announced it and she thought she would jump with joy. Bleakheart. Bleakheart and Doompaw. What a fiercesome pair. Together they would definitely strike fear into the hearts of those foolish neighboring clans. Doopaw touched noses with him and followed her new mento into the crowd, refusing to allow herself to be warm. She stood so the wind could snap and nip at her as she celebrated Rainbowpaws warrior ceremony. I wonder what my name will be...
"Yes, Bleakheart." she replied obediently.

"Sure thing Creakingwood!" Wildfang called as he left. She turned back to Russetstripe. She tried not to complain as he pulled at her paw. She couldn't help the ocasional hiss of pain but she was quiet enough. Wildfang flattened her ears when she heard how long she had to sta in for. "Tommorow morning?!" She yowled. "I could be hunting! The clan needs food Russetstripe, I can't just 'take it easy' in the middle of leafbare!" She narrowed her eyes. She could swear the medicine cat had purposely licked up a mouthful of the betony poultice just so he couldn't answer her. Wildfang gave him an irritated look. "And what about Creakingwood? He told me to go hunting with Skysong, Weaselpaw and Hawktail. Who do I obey? Him, or you?" Wildfang was good at arguing, she could find an argument for anything. She watched Russetstripe. He wouldn't get away with not answering her.

The tom chuckled at the look he received from his patient, almost swallowing half the mouthful of betony he was just about to spit back on to the leaf. After emptying his mouth he hurriedly bounded to the freshwater pool inside his den and lapped some water, ridding himself of the tangy herb flavour. When he returned he sat in front of Wildfang with a serious look on his face - it didn't suit him much.
'You're to obey me over Creakingwood. Just because he's the deputy doesn't mean he knows what's right all the time, now eat these poppy seeds' he nosed the leaf wrap towards the she-cat, exposing the two very tiny yet precious seeds that medicine cats used so much. Russetstripe thought them a miracle from StarClan, for nothing else held pain at bay the way these did. Whilst he waited for Wildfang to do as requested he padded to the entrance of his den, surveying the camp with his green eyes. He spotted Rainbowspring, the newly made warrioress, and beckoned her with his tail, yowling her name to fully reach her attention. It seemed she wasn't one of the chosen cats to go out hunting, so Russetstripe was going to give her possibly the toughest warrior mission in the history of StarClan - keeping Wildfang in her den for the day.
'You're to rest in the warriors den until sundown, when I'll come and check on you. Appart from you I have no patients, and my herb supplies are as fully stocked as they'll ever be in Leafbare, so I'll take your place in the hunting party. I could do with a nice juicy mouse..' The ginger cat smiled at the thought of going hunting, probably the first time in moons that he'd been out of the camp doing something other than gathering herbs or mentoring Stormpaw. He still missed Stormpaw. It was unusual for Clanborn apprentices to dislike how the Clans lived, but Russetstripe had accepted his decision to leave with no grudges held against him. Shaking his head to clear the memories he flopped onto his side to wait for Rainbowspring to join them so that he could give her her task for the day.

Rainbowspring, who had been quietly conversing with her mother, perked up at the sound of her new name being called. Looking about, she saw Russetstripe beckoning to her from his den. Excusing herself from the dark tabby figure of her mother, the black and white cat bounded across the clearing. She slipped inside of the den, carefully shaking her pelt to rid her of some water. She made sure that she didn't hit any of the herbs that were around her. Rainbowspring knew that the little plants were precious. "Yes, Russetstripe? What can I do for you?" she asked politely. She smiled at Wildfang, who was taking herbs for her paw. She then returned her yellow eyes to the medicine cat, her smile still as warm as newleaf.
Hawktail allowed her daughter to depart. She needed to rest until Wildfang was better, so she would have full energy for the patrol. Yawning, the dark tabby turned and padded back to the Warriors den. She took her place in her nest and began to drowsily wash the rain from her coat.
Bleakheart smirked. "You don't need to have your manners in check with me, Doompaw," he meowed. "I won't hurt you for talking normally to me." Flicking his tail for the newly made apprentice to follow him, the small tomcat lead her from the Camp and out into the thicker shelter of the territory. He knew the place well enough to give her everything she needed to know. And the rain wouldn't hit them out here, thanks to the thick pine trees. The golden brown tabby glanced over his shoulder and paused to wait for Doompaw. As soon as she was at his side, he began to walk once more.

Raising his head as the she-cat approached and flashing her a wicked grin, the medicine cat invited her to sit, propping himself up to a seated position from his lazy-looking sprawl. The young cat already looked much more confident with herself and how she spoke to other cats. He had been there at her kitting, and it always sparked pride in him when he realised how much the tiny little kits had grown since, in both physical and mental aspects.
'Rainbowspring, Wildfang hurt her paw whilst she was out this morning and I've told her she needs strict rest for the day. Would it be okay for you to keep an eye on her for me whilst I take her place in the hunting patrol?' Russetstripe had a feeling Wildfang would protest at this, but if it was the only way to keep her still enough for her paw to heal then she would have to put up with having the younger warrior as a kit-sitter. The tom stood up and stretched luxuriously, curling his long tail over his back and purring.
'Any questions before I go?' he smiled at Rainbowspring.

Wildfang gave Russetstripe a sour look. 'I don't need to be watched like a naughty kit!' She snapped. "And Rainbowspring wants her first job as a warrior to be something special, not watching another warrior in case she sneaks away against the medicine cats orders!" She flicked the new warrior with her tail. "Go along with me" She whispered, knowing Russetstripe would hear "We'll both win!"
