OOC: At first, this going to take place in camp, but since most of it will take place here, that is why I am posting here.
Padding alone, a blue-gray tabby she-cat with delicate, but fierce white paws carried a mouse back to camp. It was close to sunset now, and she wanted to be home after a long time of hunting by herself. She at the time had not known what, but something had been compelling her to go out alone. Nothing had happened, and she wanted to return home with something, so it did not look like she was just wandering aimlessly. Therefore she caught a mouse.
Closer to camp now, Leafstar froze as she heard something that sent chills down her spine and made her bristle with alarm. It was the sound of three dogs barking, and it was way to close for them to be in Twoleg Place. They are in ThunderClan territory, she analyzed.
Without wasting another moment, she sprinted back to camp urgently, hoping the dogs didn't advance to quickly. She veered off course every once in a while to try to confuse the dogs if they got this close. She charged into camp, dropped the mouse at a random place, and rushed over to the Warrior's Den. She plunged inside and meowed with obvious distress. "I need a large patrol, NOW!"

Snowynight's gray and white head shot up from her dreams as her leader's voice erupted from the entrance to the den. the deputy stood and looked at her leader. There was a fearful edge to her and Snowynight decided to meow something that might seem calming. "No cats are on patrol or hunting, so we should have plenty of cats. But, what's wrong?" she added. Not waiting for an answer, she padded over to the other Warriors and prodded them in the sides with her paw. "You all heard her. Large patrol, now!"

Peacefully snoozing in his comfy moss nest, Triplefury had not heard the commotion of Leafstar's arrival. You could call him a heavy sleeper and you'd be right. He liked warm dark spaces that he could easily curl up in and drift away into his own little world, even if he wasn't actually going to sleep. His brothers, Singleflame and Doublefaith were quite light sleepers, and so it was that when Leafstar caterpaulted herself into the Warriors den, Doublefaith's tortoiseshell self was one of the first to rise. He stood up quickly, blinking away the sleep, and listened to the conversation between leader and deputy, a niggle of worry creeping into his brain. With an alarmed hiss at the urgency in Leafstar's voice he span around and sank his teeth into Triplefury's scruff, taking a clump of fur away with him. It seemed an odd thing to do, especially to your own kin, but it was the only way to truly wake up the black and white scruffbag.
'Wake up fatty, something serious is happening!' was the first thing he heard. Leaping to his paws, and consequently getting head rush, the large tom stumbled a couple of steps forwards with an annoyed glance at his smaller brother.
'No need to lose your tail!' he remarked, making his way between the other Warriors to meet his leader, 'Lead us to it Leafstar. Whatever it is..' he smiled reassuringly as he was joined by Doublefaith, who nodded his agreement.

"You all heard her. Large patrol, now!" A large paw jabbing him in the side and the call of Snowynight echoing in his ears. He hauled himself up, taking most of his bedding with his, and proceeded to shake moss all over his deputy. 'Oops, sorry Snowynight. Do you know whats happening?' He padded out of the den on her heels and sat in front of Thunder Rock, both calmness and seriousness radiating from him as he looked at Leafstar curiously.

"There are dogs in the territory, and they are advancing, hurry your furry little behinds, now!" Leafstar shouted. She nodded at Snowynight, thankful that she was helping her out. She looked past the camp entrance, imagining the dogs suddenly breaking in and bringing havoc upon her clan. Not happening, she thought to herself.

Dogs! Thats how the famous Thunderclan leader Bluestar had died! Dawnsghost was intent on not letting the vile creatures anywhere near his Clan. 'Where are they? I'll claw the fur off their faces, show them who's boss!'He was absolutely furious now, spitting the words out. In a surprise show of violence, the russet tom dug his sharp claws into the ground, ripping up grass and dirt. 'They better not come anywhere near the camp!'

A small hint of pleasure hit Leafstar as she saw Dawnsghost's fury. She knew why too. Bluestar had been one great leader, an idol to anyone. She nodded gravely to the russet tom, and looked back into the Warrior's Den. So far, it was Triplefury, Doublefaith, Dawnsghost, and her. They needed more.

Dreamstep woke with a start. She heard Leafstar explain that there were dogs in the territory! That was how the famous Bluestar of ThunderClan had died. Dreamstep got up immediately. "Where are the dogs? Show me." She was in a hurry to get them away from her Clan and the camp. If one of the dogs followed cat scent into camp they would be in big trouble.

Hawkswing heard the yowl of the frightened cats racing around the camp gathering a patrol. Bounding up from where she was watching her new kits sleep she peaked her head around the entry of the nusery and mewed "Dogs?"

Dreamstep heard Hawkswing asking about the dogs. She padded over to her and meowed "Yes there are dogs. Leafstar is sending out a patrol to stop them before they get to camp. Your kits should be safe." Without waiting for a reply Dreamstep walked back to the warriors den. She wanted to be on the patrol.

With another eager warrior on patrol, Leafstar counted the warriors again. Five. She hoped that they would be fine, if not, she would send someone to get more help. She looked seriously at her warriors and meowed ominously, "Pray to StarClan that nothing happens, and that the dogs are the ones hurt." With that, she lead her patrol out of the camp at a steady trot, not wanting to waste their energy in running.
Soon after that, they began to hear the anxious barks and smell the dog scent. The tabby she-cat gulped as the stench hit them, and her claws unsheathed, almost automatically. There was a feeling deep inside her chest, the feeling that something would go wrong. But she tried to ignore it as much as she could. There was nothing much she could do. She had to get rid of them, for the safety of her clan.
She caught the first glimpse of them at the edge of Tall Pines. Surprisingly, that hadn't gone that far in. And they will never go any further. She silently signaled for her patrol to stop as the large dark figures moved towards them through the dense undergrowth. Her suspicions had been right. There were three of them. But the third was actually just a little bigger than a large clan cat. Then she looked around her, analyzing. When she finally came up with a plan, she turned to her warriors and whispered her plan. "Climb the trees and hide. Were are down wind from them, so they will not smell us. Once they reach this spot, they will stop because we have left our scent on the ground and plants. That's when we ambush them." With a meaningful glance at each of them, she turned and climbed into one of the trees and hid behind a curtain of leaves. She could see the spot, but the dogs were not able to see her. In silence she waited, until the three dogs finally reached the spot and stopped, getting excited at their scent. She could hear her heart beating in her ears loudly, and she thought that the dogs would hear it and it would give them away. At least dogs can't climb. After a few more excruciating heart beats, she yowled out, "Now!" and she leaped out of the tree and landed on the back of one of the larger dogs.

Following the instructions of his leader, Dawnsghost hauled his sleek body up the nearest tree, claws leaving permanent marks on the ancient plant's trunk. The signal was called. 'Now!' And with that, he threw himself out of the branches that had been concealing him. He flew at the naerest dog, which happened to be the bigest of the lot and drew his claws down it's side. Landing with a thump behind it, the russet tom jumped again, landing on his enemy's back. He was not normally a very vicious cat, but being a father brought out a protective instinct in him. He would NOT let the dogs near his mate and kits!

Dreamstep had climbed up the trees, just like her Clanmates. She heard the signal "NOW!" from her leader. She jumped down beside the dog enemy. She landed on its back. It turned, surprised. She scratched its face and it barked with anger. It paused to shake off the surprise and get focused again. Using that time as an advantage, Dreamstep ducked under its belly and began to scratch the savage dog. "I won't let this mangy dog get near camp" Dreamstep thought while she continued to attack.

Trying to bite the dogs vein, but not being able to do it because of the thick skin, Leafstar leaped off as the dog rolled over. She had the perfect opening. In a flash, she bit down on the dog's neck, a killing bite. But the dog swiped at her with a heavy paw and long claws. The damage was done; to both of them.
The dog died almost immediately, while Leafstar staggered away. Her vision blurred, and her head dropped. Slowly, one of her nine lives seeped out of her, and she was now in a starry realm. With sudden eagerness, she stood to meet her ancestors, which she could see outlined in stars. One in particular caught her attention. It was her mother. "Mother..." she whispered, before she touched muzzled with her.
"Leafstar, these dogs will also take another of your warrior's lives. But do not fret, it is his time..." Then suddenly, the figures faded away in nothing, leaving her alone. She closed her eyes in despair, and when she opened them again, she was back in the battle. With renewed energy, she stood and looked around to see what had happened in her absence.

Dreamstep yowled with satisfaction. She had clawed a dog on the nose and sent it running. Suddenly, she saw Leafstar drop on the ground. She raced over to her. She knew the ThunderClan leader was not on her last life, and she was glad of that. She waited for her leader to come to. Leafstar woke from dreaming with StarClan and Dreamstep was relieved. The first thing she said was, "are you alright? We only have one dog left to fight and we can do it without your help, if necessary." She knew her leader would be ok but needed rest. Dreamstep also knew that Wolfpelt would not approve of her fighting just yet.

Hearing the voice of Dreamstep besides her, the tabby leader turned to look at the warrior. Her vision was still slightly blurry, but she managed. "I'm fine now. My wound automatically healed, so I am as good as new." Then she looked at the last dog that both Doublefaith and Triplefury were fighting. It was the smallest, but also the swiftest.
She knew that if she interfered, the young warrior's pride would be hurt, besides, she knew they could handle it. Just as these thoughts passed her mind, her head turning to look for Dawnsghost, a terrifying feeling entered her conscious, and her mother's words filled her head. Dreamstep and Dawnsghost seemed to be fine, so she turned to the two remaining warriors still fighting the dog.
And just as her eyes landed upon the sight, the dog grabbed ahold of Triplefury, shaking him by the neck ravenously. At first the black and white tom struggled, but cold entered Leafstar as his body lost motion and became limp. "No!" she shrieked. Without hesitation, she launched herself across the distance and landed square on the dog's face. Filled with fury, she dug her claws into its eyes, ignoring the disgusting stuff that came out, only feeling the anger that this piece of fox-dung had killed Triplefury. The dog had begun to howl in agony at her clawing its eyes out, but Leafstar didn't stop. She wanted it to feel pain. Doublefaith had ceased fighting, dumbstruck at his brother's dead body.
Finally, the dog went down into a submission stance, whining loudly at the pain. Only then did the leader step back, breathing heavily, the anger clear in her eyes. "You filthy fleabag! Enjoy your last moments, for this is my revenge for killing Triplefury," she whispered with menace. This was a side of Leafstar that had never been seen before, and it almost scared her too.
She padded over to the dog and shoved its head away, blood pouring down and spilling onto her snow-white paws. In a heart-beat, her fangs were digging into its neck vein, the one that is used to kill. Leafstar did not let go until the body hung limp in the jaw. Then she let go abruptly and looked at Triplefury and Doublefaith. Satisfied now, the anger slowly subdued and she hurried over to the two brothers. Doublefaith was expressionless, and the juvenile face of Triplefury was almost too much to look at, but Leafstar held her gaze. She touched the living brother with her tail comfortingly, totally the opposite of a few moments before.
"I am truly sorry. You cannot imagine what pain we all feel." Then she licked the top of his head and turned to Dawnsghost and Dreamstep. "Help us bring Triplefury back home. I'll send others to clean the carcasses later."
OOC: Please forgive the gruesomeness, I got really into it. And I am god-modding for peverell because unfortunately, he has left the site, but for good reasons.

Watching his leader brutally attack and kill the dog was almost to much for Dawnsghost to bear. His rump hit the ground with a dull thump and his tail swung craizily behind him. The dogs had brought out something dangerous in Leafstar, the same thing that pushed a mother to protect her kits, a fierce loyalty. He hoped he would never see this side of his normally peaceful leader, but if the tension surrounding Shadowclan was anything to go by, those hopes were in vain. At his leaders request, he stood at Triplefury's limp shoulder, an unforgivable sadness creeping through his body. Another warrior lost. . .

Dreamstep watched as her leader killed the dog. It was a sad and irritating to see a dog kill Triplefury. Leafstar had been avenging his death. She killed the dog and turned towards her and Dawnsghost and told them to help carry Triplefury's body back to camp. Dreamstep nodded and went over to her fallen Clanmates body and Doublefaith. "I am terribly sorry for your loss. He will be remembered for dying for his Clan."

Nodding as the warriors gathered around Triplefury's body, Leafstar grabbed his neck and pulled him up, waiting for everyone to grab something else to lift him up by. Once he was in the air, she began to walk back to camp at a brisk pace. It was a long way back, and they all carried a heavy physical and emotional burden. Oh Starclan, what a dreadful day it is...

Dreamstep helped her Clanmates carry Triplefury back to camp. The rest of her Clanmates would all be sad when they got back to camp. Especially Doublefaith and Singlefame. Since he was their brother.
OOC: Sorry its short.
