The tortoiseshell she-cat silently padded into the Medicine Cat's Den, trying not to catch the attention of any who might see. Very rarely did she enter this den, so she looked curiously at her surroundings first. Then Eclipsesong meowed out with a low voice, "Beechflight? Can I talk to you?"

Beechflight heard her name being called and stepped out from her herb supply to see Eclipsesong. She didn't look injured. "Yes, what is it Eclipsesong?"

Looking around to make sure there weren't any listening ears, although she knew there weren't, Eclipsesong turned to the approaching medicine cat. "Not sure," she replied warily. She didn't know Beechflight to well, but she knew she was very friendly. Her last major encounter with her was when the foxes had attacked Shadowpelt, Hawktail, and Jadeflight and the light brown tabby had helped them out. She continued, "Lately, I've been really nauseous and I feel heavy but I'm not sure why. I was wondering if you knew." She already had a slight suspicion, but she pushed it to the back of her mind and hoped it wasn't true. At least not yet.

Beechflight listened as the she-cat explained to her what she came for. "Well Eclipsesong, I am happy to tell you that you are going to have kits. I know this is a little scary, but don't worry. I'll help you with everything. Do you to tell the father or wait? I don't care what you do, but he needs to know before the kits are born. Otherwise he will be freaking out." Beechflight smiled, remembering other male mates that freaked out during the birth of the kits. The mother of the kits and her had always found something to occupy them.

As the truth dawned on her, Eclipsesong couldn't help but almost lose her usual blankness. Her fur bristled, and she suddenly felt a lot heavier. Almost completely ignoring Beechflight's words, she asked hoarsely, "When? When will they be born? How many?" She looked down at her paws and her eyes widened. She was going to be a mother. A queen. Not a warrior. You'll be back to your warrior duties after... she tried to convince herself.

Beechflight knew that it was a surprise to Eclipsesong that she was having kits. "Well by the looks of it, you are going to have 2 kits." Beechflight purred with pleasure at the thought of having 2 new kits in the Clan. She wondered who the father was. It wasn't really her business, but she was wondering who she would have to distract when Eclipsesong gave birth.

Nodding her head in solemn acceptance, Eclipsesong murmured, "I have to tell Blackhole. Thank-you Beechflight." She turned and padded out of the den with numb paws. It was quite a shock. She slowly made her way into the Warrior's den and looked around for Blackhole. She found her mate resting in their normal spot and went over to him. "Can I talk to you?" she asked.

Beechflight watched as Eclipsesong left her den. She was going to ask if Eclipsesong wanted her to come with her to tell Blackhole, but she decided not to ask. This was something the she-cat had to do alone.

Blackhole was surprised. "Uh yeah sure, Eclipsesong. Is everything alright?" he asked. He couldn't quite forget the fact that she had come from the direction of the Medicine Cats Den. A worried expression touched his normally calm features and he motioned for her to follow him to a quite corner of the camp.

Silently, Eclipsesong followed her mate to the quiet corner. Once there, she lowered her head and meowed softly, "Blackhole, I'm- I'm going to have kits." She tried to say it fast to get it over with and not as dramatic, but to her it still was. She didn't know how her mate would react.

Blackhole's eyes widened in surprise, not shock. " Thats great Eclipsesong!" he meowed. He was so happy but the way she had said it, in a rush told him she was worried. "Whats the matter?" he mewed. "You'll be fine and you know ill be here for you." As he talked he slid his tail through hers and gently purred into her fur to comfort her.

Beechflight watched as Eclipsesong told Blackhole about the kits. He looked happy, but then his expression changed. The light brown tabby she-cat wondered what was wrong. She was about to go over, but saw that this was something the two needed to solve by themselves.
