A warning snarl pulled up the tabby's lips as she noticed Hawktail padding towards her. This was her kill, and her private time, something she intended to make the most of. It wasn't often that she got some time to herself, and now that she'd taken on a second apprentice, things weren't about to get any quieter for the tetchy she-cat. She saw Hawktail stop and sit down again and returned her attention to the cold, bloody ear that had her stomach positively boiling with hunger and anticipation. There was not a shred of regret in her mind or her heart as she tugged at the chewy lump of feline flesh, a cannibal if ever there was one. Thornsoul could live with one ear, and it served as a good punishment to him not to cheek her again.

As she worked the tough meat in her jaws she thought ahead, about the words she would exchange with the four cats she had chosen to speak with after the meeting had ended. Bleakheart and Thornsoul would need to be given instructions on where things were around camp and who to follow out to do training with the apprentices. They wouldn't thank her for babying them, but it had to be done. Hawktail would need to be instructed on the proper care of Whisperedprose and the best way to try and toughen up the ex-kittypet. Bengalfur, as deputy, would obviously have to be present at all of this, and she would need to be briefed about the entire new training programme. Not to mention the new hunting schemes and building a better defence for the camp..

Risingstar had thought about a lot over the past moon and a half, and the time was ripe for changes.

Thornsoul slipped over to Risingstar, but stopped before he reached her. He didn't care for the leader, but he knew he'd have to show her some respect, especially since she allowed Whisperedprose into the clan. The new truce with Bleakheart was already beginning to unsettle him, much more than the glares of the Nightwalkers-no ShadowClan cats he reminded himself- did.

Standing, the tabby warrior padded slowly across the clearing. She glared as the tom known as Thornsoul padded passed. He looked odd with one ear, and it sickened Hawktail to know what Risingstar was doing with the lost ear. The dark she-cat shook her head. She reached the leader's den and sat outside, glancing at Thornsoul. "Don't follow her around like a lost kit. She'll only claw at you. Consider yourself warned," she meowed to the cat. She raised her voice a little so the feasting leader would hear it. "Don't have us waiting all day, Risingstar!" The grouchy warrior knew that her leader wouldn't snap at her for talking like that; she did it all the time.


Bleakheart walked briskly over to the entrance of the den. He side glanced at Thorn - Thornsoul now. The undersized cat listened as the she-cat, Hawktail, talked about him following the leader too closely, and what he would receive. He simply rolled his cold yellow eyes. But, Hawktail did seem to have the prospects of being a rouge. This place is weird.

"I do not follow anyone, that is the job of Whisperedprose." Thornsoul frowned, twitching his one ear irritably. Actually, if he was perfectly honest he was pretty glad he had lost the other one. It had been causing him pain for moons, so Risingstar had probably just saved him a lifetime of agony. Besides, losing an ear would do nothing to keep him from cheeking the leader if that was what he wished, no matter how much he respected her.

Bleakheart laughed lightly at Thornsoul. "Keep the prickles out of your pelt, Thornsoul. That lost kit of yours isn't the only follower now. We're with the Nightwalkers now," he added a creepy tone to the word 'Nightwalker'. "We both follow that she-cat," he meowed, flicking his ears toward Risingstar's den. The little cat twitched his shoulder, remembering the scratches that had only stopped bleeding recently.

Hawktail twitched her tabby tail. "Nightwalkers? Is that what we are referred to as?" she turned her head slightly and leaned forward, her sideways ears flicking. If anyone hadn't known better, which the new cats probably didn't, they would think she was flirting teasingly. "You're not scared of Nightwalkers, are you?" she meowed with a small purr in her voice.
