Padding out into the soaked ground, Leafstar ran all that she was going to say in the meeting in her head. Finally satisfied with her plan, she leaped onto Thunder Rock, which was slippery from the rain last night. Breathing in and then yowling loudly for the whole clan to hear, "All cats who are old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath Thunder Rock." Then she settled down at the edge of the rock to wait for the clan to join her in the clearing.

Dreamstep heard her leader summon the Clan. She padded to the outside of the warriors den and sat down. She was curious about what the leader would say. She waited patiently for Leafstar to start and for the rest of the Clan to gather.
OOC: Sorry its short. I have to go.

Hearing her leader call from outside, Wolfpelt rose and exited her den. Setting herself outside, the shaggy cat looked through amber eyes to her leader, awaiting the Clan. The medicine cat already had a small feeling fluttering in her belly on what the meeting would be about...

Dawnsghost padded out into the clearing at his leaders call. He was absolutely positive he knew what the ceremony was about, and felt a little buzz of joy. Seating himself in front of Thunder Rock, he looked up at his leader expectantly.

Rushing out of the Nursery on eager paws, Dragonkit headed Thunder Rock with his sister. A little while ago, Leafstar had groomed them both to perfection, and he hoped that meant what he thought it meant. If so, he wondered who his mentor would be. He also hoped the meeting would be about the Gathering the night before. Excitement rushed through his blood as the concept of finally being an apprentice filled his mind.

Dreamstep watched as more cats came out to sit in front of Thunder Rock. She saw Dragonkit scamper out of the nursery. She smiled as she watched the kit. She sighed when she remembered she might never have kits. She layed down and was on the verge of tears, but didn't cry.

Hawkswing slunk out of the nusery towards her leaders yowl. Although she didn't want her kits to be unattended she knew this meeting was important and so she sat outside the entrance of the nusery in the sun.

Deciding to not wait- since either way, they are able to hear from their dens- Leafstar began to speak. "ThunderClan- there is much to talk about today. Firstly, I would like to talk about the Gathering last night. Leopardstar proposed that the clans have a "sport's day." It is agreed that next full moon all the cats who would like to participate may do so. Nobody is forced to participate. And the whole clan may attend." Taking a quick deep breath, Leafstar continued. "Next, if Dragonkit and Waterkit can come to the front please?"
The dark tabby tom almost jumped over to the base of the Thunder Rock. It was so exciting! At last, he was going to be an apprentice! He sat down and his tail lashed from side to side in eagerness.
Looking proudly down at her kits, Leafstar puffed her chest and continued on. "Dragonkit, from now on, you will be known as Dragonpaw. Waterkit, you will be Waterpaw." Then she turned and looked for the two warriors she had chosen to mentor them. First her gaze landed on a large russet tom. "Dawnsghost, I know that at the moment you have a family to take care of, but you are capable of many things. You will be Dragonpaw's mentor. Teach him all there is to being a great warrior." Then she looked for the other she-cat. "Dreamstep, you will be Waterpaw's apprentice. Pass on to her all the skills that you have learned." She then waited for the mentors and apprentices to touch noses.
Dragonpaw's eyes gleamed- this would probably be the second best day of his life- after the day of his warrior's ceremony. And he already liked his mentor, who was a well-respected warrior and strong. He bounded over to Dawnsghost and reached up to touch noses with him.

Dreamstep had sat up to listen to her leader. She nearly jumped out of her pelt when she heard that she was going to have an apprentice. She walked up to Waterpaw and touched noses with her. She was excited to finally have an apprentice. Dreamstep went back to sit down and listened to what else her leader had to say.

Dawnsghost was staring at some point over his leader's shoulder, not really paying much attention to what his leader was saying. His thoughts were on the very family Leafstar mentioned when he heard his name being called. Snapping back to the present, he looked around subtly, looking for the cat who had named him. Realising it was his leader, and what she had said, he padded to the small apprentice and pressed his nose to Dragonpaw's leathery equivilent. His new apprentice seemed to be buzzing with excitement and joy.
Smiling, Dawnsghost nudged him towards the other apprentices and signaling he wanted to talk to him after the meeting, the warrior made his way back to his seat. spotting Hawkswing, he changed route to place his fluffy rump next to her. He licked her ear affectionately then turned his eyes to Leafstar's next words.

Hawkswing was bursting with joy as Dawnsghost was made a mentor and as he came and sat next to her she returned in kind and passed a tounge over his ear, murmuring a 'well done.' Turning back to Leafstar she listened to what she next had to say.

Wolfpelt watched with warm amber eyes as the two kits became apprentices. Padding away from her den and up to the new 'paws, she purred out "Congratulations!" She then turned, padded back to her den, muttering congratulations to the new mentors as she went. Reaching her den, the shaggy gray cat disappeared into the sweet scents and shadows.

"i have one last announcement," the tabby leader said after her kits and their new mentor touched noses. "As you all may know, Snowynight has gone to join StarClan. This is a tragic event for all of us, but we must continue for her sake. For the mean time, I have decided to not choose a Deputy. All is well in ThunderClan, and I hope that it continues so. If I do later need one, I will choose a new Deputy. In the mean time, I will take care of her kits." Her voice was low and sorrowful, as the death of her friend pained her. But they must continue on.
"This clan meeting is now over," Leafstar at last meowed, leaping off the rock and heading over to her den.
Dragonpaw listened closely as his mother finished the meeting, knowing that he will miss the company of the old Deputy. But he felt even worse for Smokekit and Blizzardkit. Once Leafstar was finished, he padded over to Dawnsghost to see what he had to say.
Smokekit heard the whole meeting from the Nursery. he was happy for Dragonpaw and Waterpaw, but he was still in mourning for his mother. The fact that he would never see her again bothered him greatly. But i'll see her in StarClan, he thought to himself. With a deep sigh, he stood and turned back into the Nursery .

Mourning a death in the clan is hard. But we must go on.
Dawnsghost saddened at the reminder of Snowynight's death, but he put it to the side. His apprentice was making his way over, so the warrior heaved himself up, and with a parting lick to Hawkswing, he padded his way over. 'Okay, I would like to take you out for a quick session now, if you're not tired, and leave the territory run for tomorrow. Are you up to it?' He grinned at Dragonpaw to take any insult off the words.

Eager at the fact that it was going to be his first training session, Dragonpaw blurted out, "Of course I'm ready! What is the session about?" He was on the edge and impatient to get started. Then when he returned he'd able to tell his mother and Waterpaw how great he was and he'd be able to sleep in the Apprentice's Den. And then the next thing to look forward too was becoming warrior. Hopefully his friend Smokekit would join him in the Apprentice's Den soon.

Dreamstep listened as her leader drew the meeting to a close. The ThunderClan leader chose not to choose a deputy. The she-cat was now worried that StarClan might punish her Clan Leafstar didn't choose a deputy. The warrior code said that you had to choose a new deputy before moon high. Dreamstep hoped nothing would happen because of this. She then came out of her thoughts and turned to her apprentice. "I will take you to explore the territory at dawn tomorrow. I am to tired right now, but will be up for it after a good rest." Dreamstep didn't think she could get a good rest, but would have to try.

>I'll make a post to continue on with in the training sands<
'Oh, come on then!' he replied, leading the way to the training sands. 'First thing we'll do is make sure you can defend yourself and your Clanmates.' The russet warrior was laughing on the inside at his apprentices eagerness and hoped Dragonpaw would put that energy to a good use.
