Blackrose made her way through Windclan territory, allowing the fierce winds to ruffle her fur only for a moment before she reached the border. The moonstone was still a long journey from here, but she hoped that one day soon this journey would no longer be dull, that she would be travelling with an apprentice. As Mothermouth came into view, she scanned the clearing for the other medicine cats. "I hope they won't be too long," she sighed.

The energetic young tom had bounded ahead of his mentor, eager to reach mothermouth for the second time in his life. He had been there once before for his apprentice ceremony and had never forgotten the wonders that StarClan had shown to him. His whiskers twitched with anticipation as he streaked across the dustland between WindClan's territory and mothermouth itself. His paws slipped slightly on the loose stones that littered the floor but he payed no attention, merely adjusting his balance to compensate and continuing forwards. He reached the clearing and was barely out of breath, his stamina training with his brothers was paying off.
'Blackrose!' he purred, trotting up to the older she-cat and headbutting her gently in the side, a less than formal greeting, but medicine cats did not have to abide by the normal Clan rivalries. He slumped next to her, waiting for Wolfpelt to appear over the rise, and played with a fallen leaf. He batted it back and forth between his paws until the wind took it away on its own little journey. The black tom watched it go until the darkness swallowed it and then he turned back to the medicine cat before him.
'So how's WindClan?' he asked, his ears perking with mild-mannered interest.

Blackrose smiled at the tom's enthusiasm. "Windclan are well. Leopardstar has recovered now, and soon it will be time for an apprentice ceremony for Thistlekit. How is Wolfpelt and Thunderclan? And I trust you enjoy your time as a medicine cat apprentice?" Glancing at the horizon, she wondered what kept the other cats.

Frostpaw ran ahead of Beechflight. The apprentice was flooding with excitement. She ran through her damp, dark territory which she had grown used to and loved. The trees started to thin out and the sight of a bush ahead and grass beyond that made her run even faster, realizing she was about to cross the border between ShadowClan and WindClan. She plunged into the tall grass, which was swaying with a light breeze. Frostpaw saw the silhouette of a couple cats ahead and guessed that was where the medicine cats were gathering together and waiting for the other cats to come. She didn't realize how tired she was from running, she only realized how excited she was. She ran even faster and caught up with the other cats. "Hello Blackrose," she mewed politely. She recognized Singleflame from the gathering, "Hello Singleflame," Frostpaw nodded to both of them as she greeted them. She swung her head around to see where her mentor was and spotted her further back.

'All good news then?' he purred in return, 'Yes Wolfpelt is alright, a bit slow if you ask me though! ThunderClan is well too, we've had two litters of kits born just lately and another of our queens is expecting' the exciting thought of even more kits showed plainly in the toms eyes. The black cat didn't mind sharing his Clans news with Blackrose, he trusted her entirely, knowing that she must trust him too to be able to share her news with him. The thought made him, if possible, happier.
'I love it, I love every second of it. Rookwing, the queen I mentioned, she's my star patient!' he laughed, thinking back to the times he'd spent with her, making sure she was alright and not doing too much, which she had a tendancy to try to. He purred harder as his fellow apprentice Frostpaw bounded up towards the two of them. He was older than her by several moons and already had a Warriors name but he still felt closer to her than the other Medicine cats, save perhaps Wolfpelt. He stood up to touch noses with her, glancing casually over her shoulder to check that Wolfpelt was keeping up.

OOC:: Sorry guys!! haven't been on in a while!
Wolfpelt walked along the path to mothermouth, the cool scents calming her. Singleflame had streaked ahead; probably to see the great place sooner. Wolfpelt sighed and picked up to a slow trot. She had been close enough to hear Singleflame say 'Yes Wolfpelt is alright, a bit slow if you ask me though!' She approached the apprentice from behind and cleared her throat. "Who are you calling a bit slow?" the shaggy she-cat asked. She noticed that Frostpaw and Blackrose were there. She dipped her head to both of them. "How are things in your Clans?" she asked politely.
OOC::Beechflight is gone for a while and won't make it to this meeting...

Frostpaw heard a cat clear their throat. She turned around to see Wolfpelt, ThunderClan's medicine cat. She eyed the cat from nose to tail tip; she really did look like a wolf..in cat form."My Clan is doing well. There was a fight against some foxes and a few cats were injured, but they're okay now," she replied eagerly. Frostpaw looked around for RiverClan's medicine cat, but didn't spot her.

Wolfpelt's ears shot forward. "A battle with foxes? I hope no one was hurt too bad, or killed," she meowed. That must have been a scare for the ShadowClan cats. Seeing as Frostpaw had used the word 'foxes' instead of 'fox', there had been more than one. Foxes were troublesome.
"Everything is running smoothly in ThunderClan. We have new kits and Rookwing is very close to giving birth." Wolfpelt knew that she could use names around these cats; they didn't share normal Clan rivalries. "I believe there will be, at the most, four. She has other queens with her to help her out if she needs it," meowed the wolf-cat. Her gase flicked around; still no sign of Skyfeather.
OOC:: Does anyone know where Skyfeather is??

OOC: Better make it so Beechflight sounds ill or too busy to come then. Blackrose smiled. "I am glad to hear that Thunderclan has so many queens. Frostpaw, is Beechflight not coming tonight? We must know soon, or else we shall miss the moon." Turning back to face the entire group, she added, "I am sorry for Shadowclan being attacked, foxes are never good news."

"Beechflight will not being coming tonight, she is very busy. Luckily no cat was killed even though there were some injuries. But everything's back to normal now," Frostpaw added casually. She turned her head from left to right, searching for Skyfeather. Were they going to have to go on without him tonight?

Breaking into an even bigger grin when his mentor appeared behind him, Singleflame stood up and nudged noses with her, greeting other cats was his favourite thing to do. He angled his ears towards WindClans territory but not a sound came his way.
'I think we should get on, if Skyfeather is running late she'll be able to catch us up whilst we travel' he looked around at the gathered cats searching for an agreement from them. His black tail swayed back and forth behind him and the excitement in his eyes never once dwindled.

Wolfpelt purred at her apprentice's enthusiasm. She nodded. "We don't want to miss the moon. Skyfeather might just be too busy to have come," the wolf-like cat meowed. She looked to the other medicine cats for their answers.

Skyfeather ran through the other Clan's territories as fast as he could. The others are probably waiting for me... Nice going, Skyfeather, forgetting tonight was the night of the Medicine Cats' meeting. What's even worse is I got delayed by some injured apprentice; she stepped on a thorn... As he finally arrived, Skyfeather saw the other cats waiting in front of Mothermouth. He sped up and stopped next to Wolfpelt, slightly panting. "I'm very sorry I am late, I got delayed quite a bit," he said, looking at the little group. "Shall we go in?" he asked, nodding towards the mouth of the cave.
ooc// sorry! I have tests next week and this week my evil teachers decided to give us tons of homework and pop quizzes everyday! D< anyways.. sorry again

Blackrose smiled at Skyfeather. "No worries, but we must leave quickly." Without waiting for an answer, she led the group of cats into mothermouth. The darkness engulfed her, but she had made so many journeys that it no longer worried her. Blackrose's thoughts drifted to the apprentices and she wondered how they were holding up, but light soon flooded out of the cavern to reveal the moonstone. The moon wasn't quite high enough to light the stone fully yet, so they were not as late as she had thought. Lying before the stone she pressed her nose to the icey exterior allowing her flesh to freeze over. Then the dreams began.

"Oh, hello Skyfeather!" Frostpaw jumped as the RiverClan cat ran up to them. Frostpaw walked eagerly into Mothermouth; it was very dark. She blindly kept walking forward against the wall, her whiskers brushing gently against the cold stone. She saw light up ahead, "Ah, the Moonstone!!" she bolted forward; her heart beat seemed to be echoing off the walls. She cast a quick glance at Singleflame to see if he was as excited as she was. The Moonstone was so beautiful; she walked around it, blankly staring at it as it reflected in her eyes. She looked around at everyone else to see what they were doing. Copying Blackrose, Frostpaw lay down in front of the shining stone. She took a deep breath then thrust her nose at it quickly, too excited to do anything slowly. Her heart beat slowed down and her thoughts lifted as she relaxed and started to dream.

Wolfpelt nodded a greeting to Skyfeather and followed Blackrose into mothermouth. Wolfpelt briefly closed her eyes; there wasn't a need for them now. Her whiskers glided gently along the walls of the cave and she shivered in delight. Opening her eyes, mothermouth loomed ahead; not yet fully lit, but slightly glowing.
Wolfpelt padded forward, the only sound coming from her were her paws lifting and setting. She laid down near Blackrose and slowly pressed her nose to the freezing stone. With a small shiver, Wolfpelt closed her eyes. Her mind cleared, and she entered the dreaming world.

Following the two females, Skyfeather padded onto the Mothermouth, curious to what Starclan would show him next. Smiling as he caught sight of the cave, he took his tima and finally reached the cool stone. Lying down near Wolfpelt, he inclined his head forward until his nose touched the cold stone. Closing his currently-green eyes as his mind blanked, Skyfeather waited for the soft feathery touches of Starclan's spirits...

The spirits of StarClan were a mysterious bunch. They never let on much, even though they knew all, and even though you could rest assured they meant no harm whatsoever, it was hard not to get a tingle of fear and unease every time you laid a paw in their sacred gathering place. Mothermouth was old hat for those medicine cats who had lived and worked for many a moon under the starry skies where StarClan roamed, but for the junior members of the medicine cat heritage, it was not always such a calm and fret-free experience. Though Singleflame loved the idea of being closer to his 'ancestors' he still did not enjoy the journey through the long, dark and winding tunnels that led to the Moonstone. He was somewhat claustrophobic and the closeness of the tunnel walls tested his nerves to their absolute limit. He did not close his eyes as his mentor had done, tension and anticipation kept them practically pinned open. He didn't utter a sound all the while they were walking but he was hard pressed not to. It would have been his instinct to turn and run as fast as possible back out into the moonlight and the open space. This would just be another strenuous test to pass on his road to becoming a medicine cat.
The tom was not directly descended from the cats of StarClan, he and his brothers had come to ThunderClan as rogues, or loners as they preferred to be called. This meant that Singleflame had no special connection with any of the deceased, not even being able to know their names. It troubled him slightly, that he might be looked over in preference for a pure blooded Clan apprentice such as Frostpaw. These worries nagged at the back of his mind as he walked, trying desperately to keep his cool in the dark conditions. As the group descended lower and lower into Mothermouth he was able to see light at the end of the tunnels, the Moonstone and it's dazzling glow. He padded slowly out of the earthen prison with a slight sigh of relief, taking up his place beside Wolfpelt and waiting for the moon to light up the Moonstone completely before pressing his nose to the cold surface and falling heavily into dreamland.

A silver she-cat stood before Blackrose. Her pelt had an unearthy glow that jittered a little, as though the stars were battling to surround this cat. "Greetings Blackrose." The words seemed to come from Waterstep, but there was an echo to her voice that had not existed in her previous life. Like every other time, Blackrose stood silently while her old mentor appraised her, and like every other time she had to control herself from laughing at the sincerity with which her old friends assessed her skills. "You have changed. You seem older than the last time we met." Again the words echoed, but Blackrose was not disturbed, she merely chuckled.
"It has only been a half moon since we last spoke Waterstep. There is no reason for me to have aged in the way you describe," she reminded the cat fondly. "I have so much to ask you. So much I need your help to understand with, but I know I cannot ask a question for you have already told me all you can. I wish these customs were gone, I dislike being kept quiet about something. Especially a prophecy." Turning away, she closed her eyes and sighed. Waterstep had died only a few moons ago, and Blackrose was still saddened by the thought of her relatively young mentor dying so suddenly. Realising the StarClan cat was still watching her, she added, "Is there anything you can tell me?"
Waterstep shook her head sadly and purred, "You know I cannot. The prophecy you were given is for you to work out, I cannot offer as much guidance as you would like. I can tell you to keep and eye on Thistlekit though, she is going to be a handful for her mentor. Watch out for the cats of not only your clan, but the other clans as well. Everyone needs help sooner or later.” Blackrose smiled, and turned away to examine the other cats in the clearing. Her thoughts drifted to the medicine cats of the other clans, and she wondered how their own dreams were going. That is of course until she spotted something to make her gasp.
Stood half-hidden in the shadows were three cats, their pelts aflame with white light. The two toms were kits, their dark pelts identical to Blackrose’s own, but the she-cat looked like she would have been of apprentice age. Her pelt was lighter than her brothers, more grey than ebony. “Gorsekit, Shadowkit, Straightpaw!” Her siblings. For a moment Blackrose wondered whether her one blind eye had tricked her into seeing things, but their relaxed grins told her otherwise. It was the first time they had met her in StarClan, and the first time Blackrose had seen her brothers since they were kits. Her sister no longer bore the scars caused by the fox attack that had killed her, but the she-cat knew this already. Many times had Straightpaw joined her as Waterstep took her on journeys in her dreams. It was good to see they were together again. There was no sign of her mother though.
A stream ran over Blackroses’ paws, and with a start she looked down and found herself stood in the shallows of an icy lake. Her mentor and siblings remained, but the other StarClan cats were gone. “Where are we?” She asked, not afraid to be in new surroundings, but uneasy. “We are nowhere in particular. But we must warn you. Beware of traitors to the warrior code, they will stop at nothing to get what they want.” It was Shadowkit who spoke now, his voice so small and yet so powerful. Blackrose wondered when her brother had become so wise. “Yes, beware. Not all is as it seems, times are changing once more and you must band together,” Gorsekit agreed. Straightpaw said nothing, but the look in her eyes was loud and clear. Listen. The undergrowth began to rustle, and Blackrose strained to see what was beneath. An amber eye glowed in the shadows, but before she could look any harder she had returned to the clearing. “We can tell you no more. It is time for you to return to your clan. Farewell.” These last words were all Blackrose could hear as she was drawn back to the reality of the moonstone.

Slipping into the grounds of StarClan, Wolfpelt found herself before a long deceased cat. It didn't look familiar at all. The StarClanner bowed in respect for the medicine cat. "Greetings, Wolfpelt." It had the voice of a tom and its voice was scratchy, an old cat when he died, Wolfpelt guessed. She bowed deeply to the spirit. "All is well?" Wolfpelt nodded to the question. "Not for long, though." The spirit had an edge to his voice now.
"What do you mean?" Wolfpelt asked, tipping her head. From the sound of the cat's voice, something was about to happen that she didn't like. The old cat stared at her. "Life is a gift, we must cherish it. But life is threatening. We must be aware. When you shall not expect it, life will wobble at the edge and nearly perish. Your apprentice cannot handle it again, so you must be there. Name screeched and blood cold as life trips and falls for one cat. Will you catch them, Wolfpelt? Catch them before they hit the ground! Catch them!" The tom began to fade, still calling out "Catch them!" over and over again.
"No! Come back! What do you mean? I don't understand! Tell me what you mean!" Blackness crept around her and she came into the waking world, crying "Come back!" She looked around with worry at the other cats. She hoped her yowling hadn't woken them. Wolfpelt caught Blackrose waking up and she sat up in a hurry to groom down her ruffled fur so the she-cat wouldn't see. Shivers ran up and down her back.

Frostpaw opened her eyes. Had she waken up already? Something was different...the air was crisp and cool. Stars surrounded her like she was in an ocean of them. Whatever she was standing on was really soft, and it seemed as though she was sinking through. Looking down, she noticed she was on a cloud. Where am I? she thought. She started to run but everywhere was the same: starry. Suddenly the ground seemed to harden, but there were still a lot of stars. Tasting the air, she noticed a ShadowClan cat was nearby. It didn't smell like anyone familiar, but either way, it was a ShadowClan cat. "Greetings, Frostpaw," she heard a soft but deep voice from behind her. She spun around, not really expecting to talk to the cat. It was a black cat with misty blue eyes. "I do believe this is the first time you've shared tongues with StarClan," the old cat continued on. Frostpaw's heart skipped a beat. StarClan! she almost said it outloud. She didn't know what to say, but attempted to make conversation anyway, "Er, yes, it is..." she didn't sound as excited as she felt. To tell the truth, she was actually feel slightly nervous. The old tom chuckled quitely then slowly began to drift away...Frostpaw opened her eyes and realized this time she was actually awake. She glanced around at all the other cats. Quite a few of them seemed awake. A small light started seeping in to the cave. Licking herself quitely, Frostpaw waited patiently for the rest of the cats to wake up.

Wolfpelt rose to he large paws. Giving a nod to the awake cats, she meowed a small, "All but Skyfeather is awake. " She decided that this would take awhile, so she settled back down on the cool floor of mothermouth and she watched Skyfeather as he still hadn't re-entered the awakening world.
